Why are there different programmes?
Over the past 30 years, Amy has crafted programmes which are safe, effective and focused on a gentle, progressive increments of physical activity. By adding special features and focusing on specific conditions the group classes will have similar physical issues, restrictions and abilities. The different classes also provide choices and diversity of Tai Chi and Qigong sets. Theses sets also change each season.
THERAPEUTIC TAI CHI/Qigong aims to transform your mobility and mindfulness while maximizing your health potential. The classes benefit everyone and are very popular with Seniors, as you discover a calm aliveness within.
Mental well-being – a pathway to enduring calmness releasing stress, anxiety, fear and depression.
Parkinson’s – seated or standing working on gait, balance, autonomic symptoms and cognition.
Balance and Falls Prevention – including elements of strength, balance and flexibility
Osteoarthritis/Rheumatoid Arthritis – increase mobility and flexibility
Diabetes – improve the control of diabetes and minimize complications
Therapeutic Qigong self-massage. This class teaches a soothing yet invigorating Qi Gong self-massage which focuses on acupressure points based on Traditional Chinese medicine.
Beginners – all ages including the basic steps, and qigong sets
Intermediate – new sets and forms are introduced each season.
WISDOM QIGONG (New Class)
“Move towards that which the heart is growing. The exercises are about becoming genuinely ourselves.
Wisdom Qigong is a calming, nurturing system of mindful movements, sound, visualization and meditation engineered to benefit your health and well being.
You will learn 5 Element Qigong using principles of Kinetic Chains while improving your brain health with different types of Neuroplasticity for memory, resilience, aging and injury recovery. The practice will include exercises for lifestyle diseases, anxiety, depression, arthritis, chronic pain, immunocompromised and better cognitive performance and function.
A way to nurture your body and mind, bridging health and spirituality while continuously refueling your energies for a deeper connection within.
SOUND BATH (New Class)
A concert for your soul
Sound baths are deeply relaxing, immersive experiences where participants listen to calm music and healing vibrations. The sessions are often used to reduce stress, relax deeply and induce sleep, while on the other spectrum they uplift, inspire, and boost creativity. A treat for your soul!
Sit or lie down and relax and receive the healing sounds. If lying down, bring your own yoga mat/pillow/blanket.
Holistic Intelligence (for mental well being)
Amy has blended her multi-sensory energy work with Tai Chi qigong, Pilates and Sound Baths. These routines require intention plus an openness and commitment. She uses movement, gentle stretches, sounds, and visualisation methods to activate the flow of healing energy within while reconnecting with the body’s own innate intelligence.
